Welcome to the Studio

My name is Iris and I am an herbalist, artist, tattoo lover and really into old stuff. Im a history nerd and have fallen madly in love with the history of body marking, especially from the perspectives of women. I have had a dream of tattooing since I was 24, however as a shy AUDhd girl, I never felt quite comfortable in the trending American tattoo studios of those days. Fast forward 30 years and I discovered a tattoo artist that was totally different from everything I had seen before. Her space was beautiful, tranquil, and inviting, and I knew instantly I wanted to finally follow that dream. At 42 I made the choice to start a new career and learn a new trade. I opened my little sanctuary of a studio, Song Dog Studios.The more I tattoo, the more I find myself. It's felt like a strange sort of "coming home". I pride myself in creating a space that is warm and welcoming. A place where maybe you feel like you are coming home too.
